Threading is an ancient method, which removes the hair with the entire follicle. In this method, Practitioners use a pure, thin, cotton thread which is rolled over untidy hairlines, hair over the upper lip, eyebrows and so on in a twisting motion thereby trapping hair in a mini lasso, plucking the hair at follicle level. Unlike Tweezing, it is possible to remove an entire row of hair or a single follicle without the pain or discomfort resulting in a precise shape. Re-growth, normally takes up to 4-5 weeks. This practice is extremely sanitary as nothing but the thread touches the skin and the thread is discarded after use. Waxing which utilizes resins and preservatives is not recommended on the face as it may leave burns or remove the top layer on the skin. As such, Threading is the best alternative for the removal of unwanted hair on the face. This process leaves no rashes as no chemicals are used and the hair re-growth is finer. Mild discomfort may occur when the process is done but usually goes away in 15mins or so. This process is recommended by Dermatologists to women with Sensitive skin or under medication of Retin-A® or Accutane®. But bear in mind, this method requires lot of experience, (not a couple of classes will do). If done incorrectly, hair may not be removed at the follicle level and may also result in cuts, uneven or distorted growth.
